Something in my computer is making a load buzzing sound

Sometimes it stops if I restart my computer. I'm guessing (and hoping) it's just a fan. Any chance it's my hard drive?

I used to have this problem. I used to have to wiggle the PC a certain way so it would stop. I think the fan gets old and isnt as tight as it used to be.

I doubt it's the hard drive.

But what do I know. Experts please chime in!

I'm pretty sure it's the fan, I need to open the box up and take a look, it's starting to drive me crazy.

it very well could be your hard drive spinning...i have heard this sound before and had to buy a new hard drive when it finally quit spinning...take note if you have many different things going on when this happens (applications) etc by looking at task manager and see what cpu usage is when you hear this noise

That should definitely tell you what the issue is. Could easier be a fan burning out it's bearings or your hard drive about to take a dump.

I'd go with the fans, too.

Might as well clean the case when you open it
